About Our Washington, D.C. Office

Established in 1976, Skadden’s Washington, D.C. office is the firm’s second-largest office and home to many of our global practices. With attorneys practicing in 30 different substantive areas, we are able to handle the full range of legal issues that affect businesses and individuals, from transactional to litigation to regulatory matters. That knowledge is readily deployed domestically and internationally by teaming with attorneys in one or more of Skadden’s offices worldwide.

We represent U.S. and international clients from a wide range of industries in connection with mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, financing arrangements and other transactional engagements. We also offer a full spectrum of defense services associated with complex criminal and civil litigation and administrative enforcement actions, including in connection with mass torts product liability, class action litigation, antitrust matters, health care matters, Securities and Exchange Commission investigations, Congressional investigations, consumer financial services issues and white collar criminal defense. Our commitment to public service and the Washington, D.C. community is integral to our culture. With a full-time counsel devoted to coordinating our pro bono efforts, we provide legal services to many low-income clients facing a variety of legal problems. We also provide legal advice and representation and financial support to many public interest law organizations, staff legal service organizations that serve the community and fully support the Skadden Fellowship Foundation. We also have been recognized for the positive effect of our “Impact Project,” a novel pro bono service program in collaboration with leading legal aid organizations and local corporations, that provides legal assistance to domestic abuse victims, tenants who are treated unfairly by their landlords and children in need of representation before the courts.
