Bio

Jaclyn Roeing concentrates her practice in the area of tax controversy and litigation. She represents clients from a wide range of industries at various stages of tax disputes, including in audits, administrative appeals, and trial and appellate judicial proceedings. Ms. Roeing is experienced in coordinating discovery, responding to government inquiries, supporting expert witnesses and developing trial strategy.

Her experience covers a wide range of complex tax issues, including international tax, excise taxes, economic substance and receipt of income doctrines, the constitutionality of tax statutes, the validity and interpretation of Treasury Department regulations and other agency guidance.

Ms. Roeing also dedicates a significant portion of her practice to pro bono work. She has represented low-income individuals in administrative matters before the IRS and the New York Department of Taxation and Finance. She recently secured a favorable settlement from the Virginia Department of Corrections on behalf of a client in his challenge against the state’s use of solitary confinement and its lack of support for prisoners with limited English proficiency. In addition, Ms. Roeing regularly represents the interests of minor children in custody disputes as a guardian ad litem.
